Transmission : short choreographic documentary

"Transmission" is the choreographic testimony of Petia Iourtchenko, unique Gypsy of Russia who initiates "gadjos" (the non-Gypsy people) to the dance of his ancestors.
The history of the choreographer is the story of an artist committed in a permanent duality : the preserving of his art, inextricably connected to the search for the modernity and respect for the traditions of his ancestors : the Gypsys dance of Russia.
Creator of the first choreographic vocabulary of an art that was transmited by the feet, Petia Iourtchenko demonstrates its commitment and approach of the relationship between a master and his pupil. A duo answers to the words of the choreographer himself staged with Alissa Doubrovitskaia, the principal dancer of the troupe. This sequence is a tribute to a dance which transcends divisions when the teacher gives to a woman, a man’s pants.
In "Tziganie" each choreography tells a story. This is the story of a choreographer and a dancer, looking for the right gesture, emotion in motion, the transmission to the relationship of a man and a woman, the time of a duo.
